According to Wikipedia: Bohemianism is the practice of an unconventional lifestyle, often in the company of like-minded people, with few permanent ties, involving musical, artistic, or literary pursuits. In this context, Bohemians may be wanderers, adventurers, or vagabonds.
This use of the word bohemian first appeared in the English language in the nineteenth century to describe the non-traditional lifestyles of marginalized and impoverished artists, writers, journalists, musicians, and actors in major European cities.[1] Bohemians were associated with unorthodox or anti-establishment political or social viewpoints, which often were expressed through free love, frugality, and—in some cases—voluntary poverty. A more economically privileged, even aristocratic or wealthy, bohemian circle is sometimes referred to as haute bohème[2] ("high bohemians").[3]

The term Bohemianism emerged in France in the early nineteenth century when artists and creators began to concentrate in the lower-rent, lower class, Romani neighborhoods. Bohémien was a common term for the Romani people of France, who were mistakenly thought to have reached France in the 15th century via Bohemia,[4] at that time the only protestant[citation needed] and therefore heretic country among Western Christians.

"Whether your setting is the beach, a pretty woodland, a festival style field or a cool and quirky venue, they often have one thing in common. Nature and being natural. The boho wedding style can range from casual beach to romantic french countryside and includes quirky carnival, whimsical woodland, and free-spirited festival.
Firstly you need to think of your dress. A boho bride is an unfussy bride! Think long, flowy materials or quirky eclectic pieces."

One of the biggest things for a Bohemian Bride is her hair. it must be free-flowing, effortless and carefree. Think about loose plaits, fishtail braids, braided crowns and mussed up hair. Do that with your hair and mix it with flower crowns, forehead bands, embellished headpieces. Think about the hairpieces of the 60th.

Flower crowns are huge in the wedding industry and definitely bohemian. If you decide to go for a floral crown you can either go for very full over the top flower crown or you can go for something more simple like small dainty flowers. You can even go for a crown made of leaves and twine.

Bohemian wedding break out areas

Our blog focuses on providing up to date info and ideas on the latest news and trends in the events industry. Breakout Areas

Having a gorgeous breakout area for your guests is the perfect way to keep that relaxed atmosphere you’re trying to create going throughout the night. Whether you go for couches and little tables, or blankets and cushions, it’s a great way to allow your nearest and dearest to feel comfortable.

Artists in the 19th century, the bohemians were known for being free-spirited dreamers inspired by art, beauty and nature. The boho wedding trend reflects their carefree lifestyle and romantic passion, with an emphasis placed on creating a fun but relaxed atmosphere.

Get Creative with the Details
Boho celebrations are perfectly imperfect. But the key is to keep your colours warm and romantic with influences from nature throughout. Traditionally, bohemians dressed and decorated with whatever they could find, so embrace your inner ‘DIY goddess’ and add hand crafted, artistic touches.
Dress up your venue with flowers and fairy lights. Bouquets should look as though they were hand-picked from the garden. Floral arrangements and centre pieces can utilize different sized bottles and jars filled with foliage and garden roses. Twinkling lights, lanterns and candles will also add a special flair to your boho wedding. Fairy lights are a great way to add ambiance as well as being relatively cheap. Feather detailing is another beautiful boho touch. Add feathers to floral arrangements, hang them from garlands or adorn place cards…there are so many options!
Consider picnic style dining. If this isn’t feasible (not everyone enjoys sitting on the ground) a main meal served ‘family style’ works well with the easy going atmosphere.  Keep with the earthy vibe by swapping out conventional table décor for rustic metallics.

Provide a lounge area with quirky cushions for guests who aren’t dancing (or taking a break!). Break out areas are key for maintaining your relaxed atmosphere. With couches and cushions, you can create cosy nook that will allow your guests to feel comfortable.

Unspoken colour scheme
This colourscheme is ideal for the soft spirited, dreamy and romantic bride. Think about crisp summer mist, think about the streets of tuscany with their terracotta tiles and add a little bit of leather to finish it off.

Remember to keep the decor for this style wedding soft and flowy but still in strong colors.

Wedding cake ideas in the Spring Break theme

If you are planning a wedding in the Spring Break colour scheme and you start thinking on how you will make your wedding cake:

Here is a few pointers:

First of all - keep the overall look and feel in mind when choosing a wedding cake. The words describing Spring Break is Happy, Light hearted, Joyful, Memories etc. Choose a cake that is not to formal!

Choose a cake in the basic color schemes that you've decided to use for the wedding. Normally it is easier if you do the wedding cake in traditional white and just add the flowers in your colour scheme.

Try and add a few fun elements! Think of Surf Boards, Island Flowers and Shells.

Spring break wedding trend for 2015

Spring break stand for everything that is happy, joyful and pretty. Now you can ask me how on earth am I suppose to bring that into a wedding theme. Spring break is one of the easiest colour schemes that you can work with. You can mix and match bright colour flowers - but remember - choose light breezy flowers - not heavy flowers that will be used traditionally at very smart elegant functions.

When you do the arranging of your center pieces remember to keep the style as loose and light hearted as the flowers are. Don't try and make stiff and formal flowers. It must look as if you've picked wildflowers and just put it in a vase.

When you make a wedding posy for the spring break theme try and keep it as loose as possible! For a brilliant article on such a wedding posy go to the following site. http://greenweddingshoes.com/diy-farmers-market-bouquet/

Types of flowers that you can consider:

Hibiscus

 Gerbera

Peonies
 Eucaluptus leaves

Poppies

Dahlias

Ideas for Arch and Gazebo draping in the Spring Break colors!

To take further our previous discussion on the wedding trends and colors for 2015.... I've decided to put together some ideas for draping of an arch or gazebo - using those spring break colors.

Remember not to try and use all the colors in the gazebo. Rather choose two or three of the main colours for the decor of the gazebo... the rest you can add through flowers or ribbons etc.

Spring break

When you think about spring break you can start thinking about words like Happy, Joy, Times to remember, Tropical feel, The one break in your life, Making of memories and Living in the moment. This colour scheme will not be for the faint of heart but the bride that loves being barefoot in the sand, threading beads and ribbon in her hair and love the joyfulness that colour will bring into the day.

When a bride looks at a color scheme it will be easy to be overwhelmed. Here you have 8 different colours that is being presented to you. How do you choose what colors to use and how to use it? With the spring break colour scheme it is quite easy because you can use most of the colours in equal amount in your decor and draping.

They've used three colours to drape the gazebo but if you look to the rest of the decor you can see that they use the three colours in equal amounts. Where there is only the two green/blues on the chairs the pink flowers in the isle makes up for not having the pink in the chairs.

Remember to keep your decor happy and lighthearted! That is what this theme is all about - being pretty, joyful and happy! Make your island dream come true!

Draping course

What do you need to look for if you decide to do a draping course .... would it just be the cost that you consider?

Before you decide to take out a certain amount of money to pay for a course - sit back and do some research. Where do they train, How many students have they trained, Can they supply you with references of satisfied students? But most of all... Do they give you time to practice! It is easy for anyone to say I can teach you how to drape in one or two days... but remember... you must go home and go and set up an event with only one or two days training!

I can bet you that when you've walked out of the venue after that day you have forgotten half of what you've learned!
